Description

The Honeywell 5816 is the most widely installed wireless door and window sensor, easily identified by the distinctive ridges on its cover. It is compatible to the Vista security platform. The sensor is installed on the door or window frame and works with the included magnet on the moving part of the door or window. This placement prevents the internal circuit board from rattling when the opening is closed.

 While the sensor can be mounted directly to the frame without the plate, using the plate is recommended because it allows you to easily remove the sensor for maintenance. The sensor includes a tamper switch that reports an alarm to the system if the cover is removed. It also sends a low battery signal approximately 30 days before the included lithium battery is fully depleted.
